SpanSet takes over Axzion GKS GmbH
SpanSet GmbH & Co. KG, Übach-Palenberg, has taken over Axzion GKS Stahl- und Maschinenbau GmbH. Axzion GKS has sales of 12 million euros and employs around 90 people. Headquartered in Langenfeld, the company produces and sells load handling equipment for onshore and offshore wind turbines as well as for industrial applications worldwide under the brand name AXZION. In order to make the affiliation with the SpanSet Deutschland Group clear to the outside world, the company will be called SpanSet Axzion GmbH in the future. The AXZION brand will thus be actively integrated into the SpanSet Group.
The aim is to expand SpanSet and the two subsidiaries Secutex and Axzion into a competence center "Lifting Technology / Load Securing Technology" as well as the associated safety management for the international SpanSet Group. "Through the acquisition of GKS Stahl und Maschinenbau GmbH, we can now offer our customers complete product systems from a single source," explains Andreas Höltkemeier, Managing Director of SpanSet GmbH & Co. "All components are coordinated with each other, and our application engineers always have the entire unit in view. Both brands, SpanSet and Axzion, enjoy a good reputation in their respective industries and complement each other perfectly."
In the future, SpanSet Germany's product range will include products from the areas of slinging technology, load securing and height safety technology, load handling equipment, impact protection, surface protection and noise protection/reduction. "In particular, we expect significant synergies from the combination of the companies' strong competencies," Höltkemeier added.
SpanSet Axzion GmbH will continue to operate in the existing structure with the company headquarters in Langenfeld and the branch offices in Neustrelitz, Großefehn and Übach-Palenberg.
Lifting technology, load securing, height safety technology and safety management form the core business of SpanSet, an internationally active group of companies. Own production facilities and sales organizations in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia employ around 820 people. 22 companies in 19 countries offer customers worldwide service and generate an annual turnover of approx. 120 million EUR. The German companies include SpanSet GmbH & Co. KG in Übach-Palenberg with its subsidiary SpanSet Axzion GmbH in Langenfeld and SpanSet secutex GmbH at the Geilenkirchen site. The group's holding company is based in Wollerau on Lake Zurich.
