However Challenging the Load - Lift it safely with SpanSet!
SpanSet held a FREE Technical Day at our factory and headquarters in Middlewich, Cheshire to explore a range of Industry lifting challenges and the many solutions SpanSet offer.
Through a day of live practical demonstrations, SpanSet’s Lifting Team highlighted various safety issues encountered by workers, discussed the theories on how these problems can be solved and showcased a wide range of solutions applicable to business – there was plenty of time for questions and input.
Subjects covered included:
Manual handling - Lifting Heavy Loads without breaking the Rigger
The Team demonstrated how our modern Magnum slings make light work of heavy loads.
Stop the waste of worn-out slings.
Using our 50-tonne horizontal test bed the Team put a range of slings (up to 8t) through their paces – abrasion, sharp edges etc then test the slings to see how each has fared – including SpanSet’s Supraplus X.
Friction on the surface area of a round sling is inevitable during the rigging process. We explored how this wear and tear can be significantly reduced by using more compact roundslings.
Slings and sleeves - turning and manoeuvring loads with unusual shapes and/or sharp edges. A live demonstration illustrated how SpanSet’s Secutex provides protection for the load, the sling and most importantly - the rigger. Cut slings under tension are dangerous!
There were presentations on a range of innovative SpanSet lifting products by our colleagues from SpanSet Axzion Germany - the Centre of Excellence for Lifting with the Group.
