EUS/MATS Tower Climbing and Rescue Scheme Registrations Important Update
14 month extended registration period reduced back to 12 months from the 1st September 2020.
On 30th July 2020 the MATS Group stated some climbers will have been issued with registration cards that have a 14 month period stated on them. This was created to offer climbers a grace period from which if they missed the course expiry date, they would not be deleted from the EUSR database for 2 months.
From 1st September 2020 the registration period will be 12 months and refreshers must be taken within 12 months of registration not 14.
Also, anyone with an EUSR registration for the Basic Tower Climbing & Rescue scheme a 12 month 'away from industry' period has been introduced where climbers will still be able to apply for a revalidation course as long as their certification expired within the previous 12 month period. Further details are available here.
