NSS choose SpanSet for their ‘Rope Access Day’ Event
In September 2020, SpanSet welcomed The NSS (Nationwide Specialist Services) to the SpanSet training facility to host their annual Rope Access Safety Day for NSS abseilers based in the north.
Last week we were delighted to see The NSS return for this annual event, and we took the opportunity to ask David Holden, QHSE Director some questions about the benefits of this ‘Rope Access Day’ for the NSS team and why they chose SpanSet as the venue.
Q. Can you explain what is the NSS Rope Access Day?
A. At NSS “The Safest Way” is one of our core values that comes at the forefront of all our activities. To support the development and safety culture within our Rope Access department; this day brings them all together in one place to practice rescue procedures and manoeuvres they seldom undertake during their day to day activities
Q.What is the benefit of attending this for the NSS Team?
A. Much like First Aid or other emergency procedures, we hope that we never have to use our rope rescue procedures but in the event of an incident on site we want all our Rope Access technicians to be prepared. In most circumstances rescue manoeuvres are only practiced every three years during external refresher training but by arranging the Rope Access Day annually at Spanset we have confidence our teams can be calm and effective in any emergency situation.
Q. Why have you chosen SpanSet’s training centre for your annual ‘Rope Access day?’
At NSS we choose Spanset for all our Work at Height training with the knowledge our employees are getting training that is best in class. With the excellent facilities and equipment available and experienced trainers we wouldn’t choose anyone else.
