Most people call me Allan, Al or Griff.

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

As Production Manager I’m responsible for the SpanSet UK manufacturing departments, where a diverse range of Height Safety, Lifting, Load Control and engineered equipment is made.

We have a skilled, experienced and dedicated manufacturing Team at SpanSet and this allows us to produce quality products and respond quickly to customer demand. It’s my role to ensure we have the people and machinery in place to do this and to liaise with my colleagues in other departments - Customer Support, Purchasing, Sales and R+D etc to ensure we work as efficiently as possible to fulfil our customers’ expectations. There are always challenges however I enjoy meeting them!

What do you enjoy about the work you do? 

Variety, no two days are the same and every day brings a new challenge.

What are your hobbies? 

My main hobby is flying large RC aircraft and competing in aerobatic competitions in the UK and Europe.

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work? 

I used to be a flying instructor teaching air cadet to fly gliders and motor gliders although I have not been able to do this since starting my family due to time. So, my main project is raising a family….. for now!
