What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

I spent 25 years in the Royal Navy with many nicknames, some were even warranted & accurate!

However these days I just go by my given name “Justin” I almost feel grown up!

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

My official Title is “Sales Account Manager“ but I'd like to be known as a Solutions Specialist. Having 9 years experience in the training department here at SpanSet I pride myself on being able to help our customers with their safety challenges giving the best solution possible. I will focus on increasing our exposure in Load Contol industries but I am also on hand to help anyone with their height safety and lifting challenges.      

What do you enjoy about the work you do? 

Quite simply, every day is different! the equipment we make & supply can be used in such a diverse range of industries, environments & applications that I can be at a Scrap yard in the morning & a super yacht in the afternoon, talking to the folks loading the wagons & then onto CEO’s of International Companies  - it certainly keeps us on our toes!

What are your hobbies? 

I’ve always been into mountain biking since it first came to the UK in the early 90’s as the years rolled on my fitness & ability declined & I lost interest however this year I bought an E-Mountain Bike, it’s an absolute revelation & nothing holds me back now, I epitomise the phrase “Reinvigorated”.

Adventure Kayaking is also a passion of mine, although I have to admit to being a fair weather paddler, my days of being cold, wet & miserable finished when I left the RN!!

I’m also a massive rugby fan, primarily Union & almost always attend the annual Army vs Royal Navy pilgrimage to Twickenham for the Inter-Services cup.

Luckily for my partner, we have a caravan sited not far from Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonia, we are there most weekends indulging in the above pastimes……our happy place!!

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

Our home is over 100 years old & takes up a lot of our spare time, I never mentioned above that DIY was one of my passions…….because it isn’t, it’s a necessary evil that I despise & will do anything to avoid however, because my partner loves it I have to enjoy  endure it!!
