Viper Anchor Roundsling
When you're trusting your life to an anchor sling, it wants to be the best!
SpanSet invented the roundsling over 50 years ago, commonly known as 'SpanSets' and a trusted, familiar sight today across many industries.
We know roundslings and have been continually improving, developing and manufacturing this iconic Lifting sling range ever since.
As experts in both Lifting and Height Safety, designing an anchor sling for use in Work at Height was an obvious move.
Our original black anchor roundsling was a fantastic product and we believe a much better choice than the traditional flat web sling. However, after 20 years and with many innovations introduced into the SpanSet Lifting roundsling range, it was time to upgrade our anchor sling offering with the new Viper Anchor Roundsling!
Viper Anchor Roundsling features
More compact and easier to handle
The new improved sleeve is braided rather than woven. The braided sleeve is narrower (25mm) than the previous woven version (45mm) making the roundsling more compact, still as flexible and easier to handle.
Hi Vis
New neon yellow colourway is highly visible. Workers can easily identify where their anchor is.

Robust Labelling
Highly tear resistant labels, better for inspection and record keeping. Longevity of anchor slings improved saving costs and generating even less landfill.
Available in 7 lengths
Choice of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.5, 4, 6 and 8 meter lengths.
Manufactured in the UK

Strong with High Safety Margin!
SpanSet Viper Roundslings have a breaking strength of 7 tonne - The European Standard EN795 is 1.2 tonne!
This offers a high safety margin for inspection, especially when combined with the knowledge a roundsling with damage to the sleeve would be discarded before damage to the internal load bearing features.

A better choice!
We believe the anchor roundsling to be a better choice than the traditional flat web sling - why?
- Extremely Strong - rated to 7 tonne, flat web slings are usually rated to 2 tonne. This high strength enables use in a choked configuration with no compromise on safety.
- Lightweight and flexible – roundslings are therefore easy to handle.
- 100% protection – the internal load bearing polyester fibres are protected against abrasion and the environment by the complete outer sleeve. Fibres of a flat web sling are exposed to wear and tear, UV etc.
- Long lasting, therefore economical and better for the planet - roundslings are robust and last significantly longer than their equivalent flat web sling. Fewer replacement slings are required saving on costs, both financial and generating less landfill.
- Simple to inspect, safe in use – if the sleeve is damaged, remove the roundsling from service. No subjective judgement call required as with a classic flat web sling – ‘How much damage has occurred? Is the flat web sling still fit for purpose? With a SpanSet roundsling it’s a straightforward ‘yes or no’. The sling will therefore always retain 100% of it’s 7 tonne strength while being used. By retiring the sling when the sleeve is compromised, the worker is never put at risk of using a partially damaged sling - which can happen with a traditional flat webbing sling.
- Stronger than the equivalent weight wire rope sling.
- Reduced wear and tear on karabiners using a synthetic round sling compared to using a wire rope sling.
