CPCS A61 - Appointed Person Lifting Operations

PRE-COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have passed the CSCS Health Safety & Environmental test for Managers and Professionals (within the last 24 months).

TRAINING AIMS

To provide comprehensive construction training on the responsibilities of an Appointed Person. To 
fully enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the CPCS Theory and Practical Tests.

 

WHO ATTENDS

Potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher training.

  • Down rating of accessories
  • Sling angles
  • Communications
  • Planning a lifting operation
  • Effects of wind and down rating
  • Creating scale drawings
  • Writing a method statement and risk assessments
CERTIFICATION

This course will give delegates a CPCS Red Trained Operator card (on successful completion of both CPCS Technical tests) valid for 2 years. You must work towards and achieve your SVQ/NVQ in Level 5 Lifting Operations within these 2 years to upgrade to a CPCS Blue Competent Operator card.
