CPC CRS7838 - Tacograph and Vehicle Checks | Sibbald Training
Objective
The intention of this course is to ensure each candidate is aware of and sufficiently knowledgeable in the use and operations of both digital and analogue tachographs. It provides a rounded instruction on vehicle checks and safety inspections.
Who should attend?
Every driver of a Large Goods Vehicle, who is driving for financial gain (a job!) – must, by law, train for 35 hours (that’s 5 days), every 5 years. This course is designed to provide 7 hours of this training towards the 35 hours total required.
Course Content
- Introduction to tachographs and the legislation
- Analogue tachographs
- Understanding the various traces - comparing them to pictographs
- Important of recording all working time
- Introduction and overview of the Digital Tachograph
- Drivers, company, enforcement and workshop cards - what they all do, their limits, purpose and abilities
- The "1 minute rule"
- Introduction to properly conducted daily vehicle checks
- Defect reporting

Please note that training hours can not be repeated within the 5 year period and each session booked must not be a unit already held on your licence.
