SpanSet's Awesome end to 2020!
When a last-minute request came in from Australian Lifting and Safety (ALS) to make two 20 tonne flat lifting slings for a boat lift to be carried out by Top Gun Cranes, SpanSet Australia were only too happy to help.
'Awesome' is an 80′ Super Yacht that was built in Brisbane in 1986. It was an iconic vessel in Queensland for two decades with its aluminum superstructure.* Unfortunately, it had been a while since this beautiful boat had seen the water, and it was time to get it back offshore.
Barry and Nathan from Top Gun Cranes were commissioned to lift the yacht from its stationary position and help it on its way back to the water. Barry supports Australian made and knows SpanSet means quality. They wanted to use nothing but the best to assist them in lifting this 'awesome' vessel.
We promptly manufactured the 20 tonne flat slings in our Western Sydney facility and then delivered them directly to the site, ready for use. Some of the SpanSet team were fortunate enough to watch the lift and see the flat slings being put to work. If you think an 80' yacht looks big on land, it looks 10 times bigger in the air.
Thank you ALS and Top Gun Cranes for this awesome opportunity (last pun, I promise) and for helping us see out the year on a high. Thank you also to our amazing manufacturing staff for producing yet another quality product with such professionalism.
