Let's Get to Know Ratchet Lashing
What is Ratchet Lashing?
Ratchet lashing is a tool used to secure loads on a vehicle by strapping them to prevent movement. Ratchet lashing comes in various capacities and lengths. There is a specific formula to determine the required ratchet lashing to ensure it meets your needs. Generally, ratchet lashing has two types: endless and end fitting.
Material and Standard of SpanSet Ratchet
SpanSet ratchet material is made from polyester and can be used in temperatures ranging from -40 to +100 degrees Celsius. Exposure to some chemical and acid solutions is not a problem. Additionally, SpanSet ratchet lashing is manufactured according to specific standards. The standard used by SpanSet is EN 12195-2, which is commonly used by many manufacturers worldwide for ratchet lashing.
Why is SpanSet Ratchet Superior to Others?
SpanSet ratchet lashing has several advantages over others. One of them is its controlled webbing elasticity with a maximum elasticity of 4%. Low elasticity increases ease in achieving optimal tension and prevents slack. Generally, the maximum standard elasticity is 7%, but SpanSet ratchet guarantees elasticity below 4%.
Almost all SpanSet ratchet products are equipped with a tension force indicator (TFI) to help workers ensure the ratchet has achieved optimum tension. Additionally, SpanSet ratchet lashing features an anti-belt slip (ABS) process that controls gradual belt loosening, ensuring the load's position is corrected and preventing damage. It also has a longer lever to achieve optimal pressure with minimal effort, and the double gear found in SpanSet ratchets produces higher tension with minimal effort.
Moreover, SpanSet ratchets feature Edge Pro webbing. Edge Pro is an additional protection on the webbing ratchet belt edges, acting as an anti-abrasion shield on the belt edges made from high-quality special polyester fiber weave.
Is Load Securing Equipment for Vehicles Important?
Indeed, it is very important, SpanSet friends! Nowadays, many still overlook this aspect, thinking that using regular ropes is sufficient, but that's not the case. Many accidents have occurred due to drivers neglecting to secure the loads properly. Therefore, it is crucial for those who often transport loads in vehicles to have Ratchet Lashing.
Why? Because ratchet lashing is easy to use, lightweight, highly flexible, and most importantly, much safer than using regular ropes
